Like jewels on the sand these shells caught my eye when we stepped onto Sunset Beach. It was about 5pm on a gorgeous summer’s day, the sun was low and getting to my favorite picture taking time when the light is so rich and warm it makes everything look delicious! Look at these closely to see the ‘Mother of Pearl’ effect that is unique to shells, it makes them glisten in any light … think about that when creating color effects on hair, try putting different levels and tones on the same slice, move the brush with the ‘grain of the hair’ to create natural looking reflections.
