The Hudson River, where lots of Manhattanites escape to for an evening walk… and this was one of those late evening walks after sunset. These pieces of wood are all that remains of the old pier that was opposite Morton Square. It's fascinating how the contrast of the wood in this light is so black against the slivery surface of the water and the texture in the wood looks rougher because of the smoothness of their reflections.
