I find engineering and machinery fascinating possibly due to growing up in my Father’s watchmaker’s shop in London, as a kid he encouraged me to sort and size watch parts hoping I would follow in his footsteps and become a watchmaker which I didn’t, however I do love watches and clocks.
In this shot I enjoy looking at the contrast between the textures and colors of the metal and stone, I use this thought process in many of the color techniques I design, to discover how I go about the process, look at my B-ING WHERE YOU WANT TO B’ DVD where I show the steps from finding an inspiration such as this one to drawing the idea on a head sheet and then applying it to a mannequin head.
