L’Oreal honors Wounded Warriors

I had the opportunity to participate in a truly amazing event, ‘L’Oreal honors Wounded Warriors.’ These are the men and women who once served in the Armed Forces, were injured and can no longer serve the United States. Its thanks to these committed, brave individuals that as Americans we can live free… truly free to choose our career, be who we want to be and, to fulfill our dreams.

Our goal at L’Oreal was to honor and pamper five of these deserving women; they were transported from the hospital in Washington, DC to our headquarters on 5th Ave, New York where we gave them a ‘Royal’ welcome.

Their war experiences were beyond incredible, resulting in permanent physical and mental suffering, some of these ladies hadn’t paid any attention to their physical appearance since they went to war 8 years ago!! Clearly, we had a lot of work to do…

After many laughs, lots of treatments, five haircuts, many tubes and bottles of hair color, shampoo, conditioner, styling products and, a lot of finishing work and we were ready for the final touches at the hands of our make up artists!

Within a few hours we had five inspired ladies, their response was priceless…
Tears of joy, tears of surprise, laughter and disbelief were just some of the emotions we all displayed.

I end this note with gratitude and a proud salute to these five women; Liza Caron, Carolyn Fota, Brenda Marlin Banks, Pamela Winn-Lovelace, and Jessica Mullen. YOU deserve more than the thanks I give… just know you have a special place in my heart and that is where you will remain.

I look forward to next year and The Wounded Warriors I have yet to meet.
